Engineering Supervisor

Job Purpose

Lead and manage on-site engineering to provide support to the site, ensuring excellence in delivery levels.  A working Supervisor role which includes the completion of maintenance and repair tasks.  Key roles include management, planning and delivery of all facilities maintenance and facilities led project engineering activities across site to very high standards of compliance to business and regulatory requirements.  To fulfil the role of Electrical AP.  To ensure that all work carried out meets current health, safety and environmental requirements.  To own the safe system of work process by administering work permits.  To liaise with the onsite client engineering staff and other ISS staff and to provide support for other Santander sites where required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong customer relationship
  • Control of all activities for mechanical and electrical, power, water, heating/cooling and building fabric
  • Fulfil Electrical AP role
  • On-site supervision for the delivery of engineering capital projects
  • Management of Fabric Engineer and Porters
  • Manage and deliver engineering processes to execute all engineering activities in a safe and compliant way via a bespoke SSoW including risk assessments, method statements, SOPs etc.
  • Completion of all planned and reactive works to contract defined SLAs
  • Proactive management and reporting of statutory compliance activities
  • Ensure all site engineering documentation is maintained
  • Produce accurate, real time reports for engineering activities
  • Ensures all critical incidents are responded to in line with agreed response times, and provides regular updates to both client and ISS management on incidents and their resolution
  • Drive environmental initiatives
  • Service excellence via an in-depth knowledge of the contract “Workplace Experience” based delivery

Minimum Requirements

  • City & Guilds, fully qualified Electrical Engineer, with HV AP experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • A good understanding of the internal operational infrastructure of commercial type buildings to include HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical & Water.
  • Experience in delivering safe systems of work and permits
  • Good understanding of compliance and statutory requirements
  • Ability to manage Planned and reactive Preventative Maintenance scheduling and planning from a CAFM
  • Good customer facing skills and ability to deliver service in all situations
  • Knowledge of the statutory requirements relating to Facilities Management
  • Good reporting skills to include weekly performance, compliance and safety measures

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all Engineering deliveries on site including scheduling and planning sub-contractors to a CAFM based PPM plan, gaining reports and certificates, identifying remedial works and obtaining quotes.
  • Management of job backlog to SLA’s using a bespoke CAFM system and the building of quotes
  • Carrying out of repair and maintenance activities
  • Line management of onsite staff – Fabric Engineers and Porters
  • Standards and quality assurance
  • Safety of works – Managing bespoke IT based SSoW. Responsible for all attendance to site.  Ensuring competence of engineers and accreditation of sub-contractors.
  • Delivering statutory compliance and best engineering practise
  • Act as customer interface and act as client point of contact
  • Emergency call out duties and out of hours cover
  • Completion of audits and closing out of actions
  • Carry out duties on behalf of Projects team
  • Detailed reporting of all aspects of delivery
  • Completion of maintenance, compliance and safety records, both hard copy and IT based
  • Plan and co-ordinate weekend and out of normal hours works
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with client expectations
  • Carry out hosting tours as requested by our Client
  • Placing Of purchase orders for materials, consumables and services applicable to site
