Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Travel: 30 minutes EW travel
Call Out: 1 in 5 weeks on call
Location: Within an hour of Shrewsbury

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring effective servicing and maintenance of customer systems, covering breakdowns, planned and responsive maintenance, as well as repairs and installation works when required. The role requires a thorough understanding of these systems and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance:
Perform regular preventive maintenance on air conditioning and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Inspect, clean, and replace filters, belts, motors, and other components as necessary.
  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM):
Conduct scheduled PPM tasks on air conditioning and refrigeration systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation.
Record and report any issues identified during PPM and take appropriate corrective actions.

Breakdowns:
Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
Repair or replace defective components and ensure systems are restored to optimal operating conditions.

Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
Repair or replace defective components and ensure systems are operating within design parameters.

Qualifications:

Certifications:
F-Gas Qualification.
NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning.
  • Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems in commercial properties.
Experience with various systems including but not limited to split systems, VRF systems, and chillers.

Skills:
Strong knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, meters, and other testing equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
