Job Title: Day Maintenance Electrician
Location: Flyingdales
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Salary: Up to £37,000 + Shift allowance of £7,400 for 70x 12.3-hour shifts (Includes Days & Nights)
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Day Maintenance Electrician to undertake general electrical maintenance work at a power station located at Fylingdales. This role involves routine maintenance, fault-finding, and operating gas and diesel generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
You will join a maintenance team of nine multi-skilled technicians, responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance on natural gas-fueled and diesel-fueled generators, as well as associated ancillary electrical equipment such as pumps, motorized valves, and compressors.
The role also includes working with Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADA monitoring systems, portable electrical appliances, HV and LV distribution switchgear, and 110v and 50v battery systems.
This position requires living within an hour of the site for emergencies, and a valid driver’s license is necessary as the location is not accessible by public transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis on power station equipment.
- Operate gas and diesel generators and maintain associated electrical systems.
- Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and various voltage distribution systems.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety and operational standards.
Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in power generation or heavy engineering.
- Qualified in Wiring Regulations to BS7671 (C&G 2382-18), 18th Edition.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic wiring diagrams.
- Strong IT skills.

Desirable:
- C&G 2391 qualification in Inspection and Testing.
- Experience within MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environments.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass Security Clearance (SC).
- British citizenship is required for eligibility.
